10th Mondial du Pain 2025 — Nantes, France
Held every two years, the Mondial du Pain is often described as the Olympics of bakers — a gathering of the world’s finest artisan teams to honour mastery, creativity, and respect for the craft.
Founded by Les Ambassadeurs du Pain, the 10th edition also marked the association’s 20th anniversary — a milestone reflecting two decades of advancing artisan breadmaking across cultures and continents.
This year, 18 national teams competed across eight demanding categories, including a blind-draw brioche evaluated through public tasting. From Pain Courant and Respectus Panis breads, to Nutrition, Aromatique, Viennoiserie (Commercial and Prestige), Snacking creations, and the Artistic Bread Showpiece, each category tested not only technique, but intention.
Representing Malaysia for the first time, Croisserie’s own Chef Ken Jay Lim (Candidate) and Chef Jia Ling Ho (Commis), with the support of Coach Chef Den Omura, achieved 4th place overall — a meaningful milestone for our debut on the world stage.
We arrived with ambition.
We leave with humility.
Grateful for the experience, and proud to have shared a glimpse of Malaysia’s craft, heart, and flavour with the global artisan baking community.
